I'm a convert from Ugg
I bought my first pair of Uggs in 1995 and they were good - high quality sheepskin, well-constructed. The sole plastic was a bit too hard for icy Wisconsin winters, so they were slippery, but I wore them anyway - for years. The second pair of Uggs I tried, I bought in 2008, and the quality was FAR worse, with flimsy sheepskin, and the workmanship was a lesser quality. I gave them away and thought Id not find good sheepskin boots again. These ABEOs have made me a believer. High quality construction, sturdy, good, thick sheepskin, and even good arch support to make walking more comfortable. Im thrilled. They are warm cozy winter boots for the extremely cold winters we have.
Nice substitute for UGGs
I love this boot. True to size, warm and very comfortable. The price was right too! This was my first order from The Walking Company and I wasn’t disappointed. I just ordered 3 more pairs of boots/sandals from them.
Basically a good boot
The biggest concern I have with these boots it the actual shoe part. It is hard to slide the boot on (definitely cant wear mine with socks--which I really don't mind) and the heel rubs terribly. The arch support is really high and took some getting used to. I am open to ideas on how to stop the rubbing, it makes it painful to walk very far in them. They are super warm and dry and the height was great for our big snow fall. I am just sad they are so stiff at the heel and rub.
Much Better Than Ugg Boots
The arch support is great. I wouldnt go for a long no walk in them but they are much more supportive than any fleece boot I’ve ever worn. And, you can replace the soles if needed. I also like that the little piping ridge around the foot is rubber instead of suede. On Ugh Boots it collapses and looks floppy and broken down fairly quickly. But because it’s rubber it keeps its shape and the boot stays new looking. I wear mine daily for months now and it still looks great. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because if you get black, the black fleece inside stains your heels. Especially if you wear them for a long time. And it doesn’t just wash off 100%. It has to wear off or you really must scrub hard. You can always wear socks (which kinda kills the purpose) but it doesn’t bother me enough to not wear them and I mostly love them otherwise.
Wonderful boot, but not good if you have small feet, athletic calves
I absolutely adore these boots, and most of the ABEO shearling boots in general. They were comfortable on first try, much more support than Uggs. The only downside is that I have very small feet, but very muscular calves. These fit my feet perfectly, but were tight at the very top edging, enough for the boots to not pull up completely. I could feel the uncomfortably tight ring of the edging digging into my calf. This probably would not be a problem for most people, but it is for me, or anyone who has a large calf to foot size ratio.
